Botanical Printing Natural Dye Workshop

Service Description

We'll work with the magic of plants, water and steam to create unique one-of-a-kind patterns on cotton bags. We'll begin by wandering the land to gather seasonal flowers and leaves, experimenting with which botanicals create beautiful natural prints and colors. Using the centuries-old art of eco-printing, you'll arrange your gathered botanicals onto cotton bags (you'll receive a few to work with to create multiple patterns) before bundling and steaming it to reveal nature's own one-of-a-kind design. We'll talk about the fundamentals of botanical printing, natural dyes, and how different plants leave their unique marks on fabric. Each bag emerges with its own unexpected patterns and colors, making every piece as unique as the plants that created it! This is about being in conversation with the plants and each other as we play with this beautiful, simple and always surprising practice!
