Meeting Mugwort in July

Service Description

Mugwort infuses natural textiles with beautiful tones ranging from sage green to soft grey. In this workshop, we will create a mugwort dye pot together and use it to dye cotton bags while learning the foundations of natural dyeing. We’ll discuss mordanting, fiber types, and how to work with the abundance of mugwort growing around you in a practical and creative way. Tea and light snacks will be provided. You will leave with a mugwort-dyed bag that we create together, along with a digital copy of Mugwort: Crone of the Plant Kingdom. Volume I: Ritual Practices of Water, Dye & Smoke. Please reach out in advance if you have a natural fiber item you’d like to bring for dyeing, and we can discuss whether it will work well for the process.
